Teacher Training at TU "Freiberg Mining Academy"

Fortnight Training for Teachers within the Framework of Erasmus+ CBHE under the Project "Master Program in Eco-Mining Engineering and Innovative Natural Resources Management (EMINReM)". At the Freiberg Mining Academy, professors from Dnipro University of Technology (DniproTech) – Prof. Oleksii Lozhnikov, Assoc. Prof. Oleksandr Shustov, and Yuri Buchaviy – participated in a two-week training program.

During the training sessions, modern educational complexes and research laboratories were visited, where the educational process takes place and industrial research on optimizing critical mineral raw material processing is conducted. Additionally, participants became acquainted with laboratory methodologies for mining process modeling, gamification of the educational process, and circular economy principles in mining.

The experience of the Freiberg Mining Academy in teaching mining and environmental disciplines was studied, including curriculum plans, course programs, laboratory equipment, and the use of an online educational platform. Methodological materials for master's programs at the Freiberg Mining Academy were analyzed to develop new educational components, which are planned for implementation in the master's programs at DniproTech within the Erasmus+ EMINReM project.             

New business and scientific contacts were established, and working meetings were held to discuss opportunities for expanding international cooperation in scientific research and academic mobility.              

Besides representatives from DniproTech, colleagues from partner universities in Germany, Spain, Turkey, Kazakhstan, and Uzbekistan also participated in the training sessions.

The modern world requires new environmentally safe technological solutions for the development and processing of natural and man-made resources, which is impossible without collaboration between leading educational and research institutions in Europe and worldwide.
